Book II: Rise of the State
Taylor continues to look for his son with the help of Tia, his female companion whom he rescued from the slave trade.  After finding a safe-haven for the children, they continue their journey to locate Taylor’s son.

The only form of government left since the cleansing is at war within its ranks as one general decides to take control of the entire force, activating combat-bots to secure the control of the entire world, while another fights to maintain the traditional roles of the military force as an aid to a government which no longer exists.

The suburbs, now ruled by Lord Samuel, begin to decay further as he ushers in a new age of warlords, gangs and slavery.  The virus ridden world continues to mutate into a world like no other before, with creatures cursed by an ever spreading virus.

Pandemic Dawn Book II ~ Rise of the State

Well, it has been a while since I have posted on here. Mostly because I worked my tail off for three months straight trying to get the new house ready for the family to move in. I have the house 90% complete. There are still things which need to be done before winter, and i am slowly getting them finished, but I have not been feeling well for the past month. After a few visits to the doctor, it would appear that I have IBS, more than likely brought on by the stress of moving and completing the house in a timely manner.

It is doing much better now, and I felt great yesterday, so I have plans on getting back to work.

During this down time, I have been looking at my various projects, and realized once again that I need to get them all in one place, which will make them easier to sell. As it is, I have things all over the internet. I have my books, 3DS Objects, schematics, SecondLife Items, eBay items, props and cosplay costumes, as well as other various things. So I am currently working on a website that will display everything I create for sale in one place.

I have obtained another web address, and will build the site there, placing a link on this site to make it easy to find.

It should only take me a few days to build the site.

I will keep everyone posted as it develops.

With the upcoming release of the latest novel in the Pandemic Dawn series, ‘Rise of the State’, I have been hard at work building the NEW Pandemic Dawn website.

I built the old site nearly two years ago, and it was time for an update to prepare for the latest addition to the series, but when I started navigating around, it was apparent that the entire site needed an overhaul. So, I decided to update the entire site, using flash.

I am keeping nearly everything the old site had, with some new additions. The new site is easier to navigate, and is ad-free. I also have a NEW character biography section where you can check out some of the great characters from the series. I will be slowly adding these characters and changing their bio’s as the series develops.

I will keep everyone posted on the release date for the latest novel and the grand opening of the NEW Pandemic Dawn website.

OK, I had this idea that I thought would be fun, and add some interesting excitement to the third book of the Pandemic Dawn Series.

My idea involves a wild card if you will. A character completely created by one of my readers. A character that they create, and I add to my next novel.

The winner of this contest will have a character of their design placed in the story-line to become immortalized in the text of the series!

The rules are simple and as follows;

1. There will be only 1 winner
2. The contest will take place from NOW! – until June 1
3. The winner will be announced on June 4th 2011
4. The character can be your creation, or even you!
5. The character must not be from any other copywritten source (don’t get me in trouble here)

To enter, simply register on www.BruceShields.us as a User. Then comment on this post with a short description of your character and their place in the post-apocalyptic world of Pandemic Dawn. A knowledge of the characters, places and plots will be important when describing your character.

The winner will then receive a detailed character sheet to be filled out, and communication between myself through email when the plot involves your character to help in the creation of the reactions and actions of your character in the story to unfolding events.
