Welcome to welcome island!
Jun3
Well I’ve been working on the sim, getting it ready to go online, and developing the “welcome island” for about a week now.
I have just about finished creating “The Bounty”, which will be the ship that users start at, docked at Welcome Island.
I had an issue with the permissions on the sim, but soon realized that I needed to activate the permissions module in the OpenSim.ini, else the permissions were a free for all…and that’s no good!
I built a real estate office and a welcome center, as well as a light house for the island. I will be placing all of these items on XStreet as I finish building them, which will make them available for people in Second Life.
As far as the OpenSim goes, I have to check the permissions for objects transferred to residents, and make sure that if someone purchases one of my items in OpenSim, they can’t use a program to transfer the item to their Second life account. Otherwise I could have my stuff boot-legged and sold in Second life and on XStreetSL.
Here are some pictures of the lighthouse, which will be available on www.XStreetSL.com
